Tip of the Week: How to Reset Your INSAIT JOY Smart Shin Guards When Errors Occur

While your INSAIT JOY Smart Shin Guards are designed for reliable performance, occasionally you might encounter persistent technical issues. Resetting your trackers to factory settings is a last-resort troubleshooting step, typically reserved for persistent problems that can't be resolved by simple restarts.

You should consider a factory reset for issues such as:

  • Recurring connection problems (trackers fail to consistently pair or connect with the app).
  • Persistent synchronization errors (new session data fails to upload).
  • Unexpected device behavior that inhibits normal operation.

This process restores your trackers to their original default configurations.

Important Data Warning Before Resetting

Please read this carefully before proceeding!

  • Unsynchronized Data Will Be Lost: Performing a factory reset will permanently erase any performance data currently stored on the trackers themselves that has NOT yet been successfully synchronized to your INSAIT JOY user account in the app.
  • Synchronized Data is Safe: This process will NOT affect any data that has already been successfully synced and uploaded to your user account in the INSAIT JOY app.

Recommendation: If possible, always ensure your data is synchronized to the app before attempting a factory reset to avoid any loss of valuable session data.

Step-by-Step Reset Instructions

Follow these steps carefully to reset your INSAIT JOY football player trackers:

  1. Prepare Devices: Make sure your mobile phone’s Bluetooth is enabled. Confirm both player trackers are powered on and are within close proximity to your phone.
  2. Open the App: Open the INSAIT JOY app and tap on the Me tab located in the bottom navigation bar.
  3. Select Device: Select My Smart Shin Guards from the menu options.
  4. Connect: Tap Device Info to connect to your trackers.
  5. Locate Reset: Scroll down the screen and locate the Reset option.
  6. Confirm Reset: Tap Reset. The app will prompt you with a confirmation message asking if you are sure you want to proceed. Please read it carefully.
  7. Proceed: Confirm your decision to proceed with the reset.
  8. Wait: The reset usually takes a few moments to complete. It is CRUCIAL DO NOT turn off your phone or disconnect the shin guards during this time.

Post-reset Actions

Once the reset is complete, your INSAIT JOY Smart Shin Guards will revert to their original factory state. You will then need to re-pair your Smart Shin Guards with your account again before tracking new sessions.
